Profound Impact Day 2020- Staying Connected – a blog by Lorna Holmes

“Arianne is in lockdown with only her team of carers having physical contact with her. I am able to speak to her through her window.

To ensure everyone stays connected I have had broadband installed giving Arianne access to YouTube and Amazon so she can listen to all sorts of music on her television. I’ve also provided the house with a tablet and set up a Facebook page so staff can check the PAMIS page and access all the resources. One we did was the Through The Window sensory story. I made the resources which helped me feel involved (modelled by the lovely Lesley in the picture😁) and the staff told the story.

Arianne has also taken part in Fiona Sharp’s Zoom music session in her garden(pic with bells).
I have also been WhatsApp video calling Arianne to say goodnight and get virtual kisses on the screen which is lovely.

Arianne seems to have adjusted to lockdown remarkably well and the credit must go to the Richmond staff who are doing an amazing job keeping both girls in the house safe, healthy and happy”
