PAMIS supporting Big Takeover Shetland
PAMIS are delighted to be visiting Shetland this weekend as part of The Big Takeover programme of events supporting the Year of Young People 2018. The Big Takeover takes place from Friday 14th until Sunday 16th and the three day programme has been developed by the talented young people of Shetland who are taking over at a number of local facilities and organisations. The weekend is jam packed with musical and drama performances, sporting events, films, writing and arts workshops, a foam party, an inflatable extravaganza, dance and circus workshops, murder mystery evening and much more. Just click HERE to view the full programme.
In conjunction with Disability Shetland and the newly formed Shetland Community Connections, PAMIS are bringing our mobile Changing Places toilet, the Pamiloo to support the events and ensure they are fully accessible to all. We will be based at Gilbertson Park on Friday the 14th September between 11.30 – 2pm. On Saturday 15th September you can find us at Mareel from 10am onwards and we are particularly excited about the storytime session with Nick Sharratt although there is plenty more going on that day for everyone to enjoy. Sunday 16th will see us at the Clickimin centre so come along and find out more about the Changing Places toilet campaign and the life changing impact these facilities make as well as other work that PAMIS does to support people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, their families, carers and professionals. We would to say a huge thank you to North Link ferries for all their support in making this trip possible and to Shetland Community Connections, Disability Shetland and individual venues for all their hard work in ensuring the Big Takeover is an inclusive event for all. The team are very excited about our first visit to Shetland with the Pamiloo and look forward to meeting everyone and taking part in what promises to be a fantastic weekend of fun.
