On Wednesday the 25th of May PAMIS were pleased to host an evening with story coach  Dr Michael Williams  where he talked about the healing power of stories. This was followed by a day when PAMIS staff, friends and colleagues spent a wonderful  day learning about the therapeutic value of stories. We spent the day exploring personal stories and it was amazing to develop active listening skills that help to hear personal stories with a real depth of understanding and see the value of everyone’s story. Dr Michael Williams skilfully led us through a story day that was deep, meaningful and transformative.

Dr Michael Williams said “The last two days spent with staff and volunteers of PAMIS were so nourishing and I’m very grateful for their sharing and willingness to enter into the healing realm of story.I look forward to working with the families which PAMIS supports later in June (20 & 21).   But for now, thanks to a visionary organisation that values everyone’s story and sees the healing value of storytelling in their work with carers and families of children with multiple and profound learning challenges. It’s also heartening to know they have a wonderful storyteller in Claire Hewitt supporting their good work. Thanks to Maureen Phillip, Jenny Miller, Amy Anderson, Lesley Gray and all the staff and volunteers of PAMIS for making the therapeutic storytelling workshop such a success.”
