Launch of Loretto’s story resource at PAMIS Conference
Well the months are rolling on and we will soon be half way through the year. The last 6 months have been a busy storytelling time at Pamis . We have completed the story resource that was created and developed in memory of Loretto and this will be launched at the International conference in June. See video clip click here
Storytelling is at the heart of Pamis with family carers and people with profound and multiple learning disabilities using personal stories to help transform practice and train future nurses, doctors, teachers and social workers. Taking part in interdisciplinary education at the University of Dundee families came together to share their stories to contribute to student learning. Families also tell their stories through digital passports and these helped inform their care assessment process. Personal stories are engaging and informative. Their contribution in helping people understand the lives of people with pmld and their families is key to helping services deliver appropriate education, care and support.
